I love roast pork. But what I love more is roast pork crackling! There's a fine line between crispy crunchy perfect pork crackling and soggy chewy crackling. You want perfect pork crackling? Try these easy steps:

How to prepare:

Step 1:

Grab some paper towel and pat the pork dry all over. Leave overnight uncovered in the fridge. This dries the rind out which is essential for perfect pork crackling.

Step 2

Grab a roasting tray and place the pork in it. Now get some oil and sea salt and rub the entire rind over.

Step 3

Now the rule of thumb here is cook for 25 minutes per 500g of pork. Then cook until you hear that yummy crackling pop and of course until the meat itself is tender.

If you followed these steps you should have perfect pork crackling which would be great for a Sunday roast or a Christmas lunch.

Here's some simple steps for cooking perfect roast pork:

Preheat your oven to 220C or if you have a fan forced oven have it about 200C. I've assumed you've followed the steps above. Now you roast the pork for about an hour then reduce the heat by 20C and roast for a further 40 mins.

Serve your pork with rosemary, thyme, beautiful roast potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, cherry tomatoes and green beans. Some unsweetened apple sauce might be a great way to top off the roast pork as well. What a perfect meal!

Nothing beats the taste of a hoe cooked pork roast, though I never heard the term crackling before, I can certainly appreciate the info here. Thanks for sharing and voted uP!

Really? Maybe pork crackling is an Australian term. Basically it's the outer fatty bit...but the tastiest part I think! Very difficult to get perfect pork crackling but it makes the world of difference! Thanks for the feedback.
