Beautiful succulent prawns. Australia is well known for them. we're very bleesed in fact to have some of the finest seafood in the world.

Why not try this delicious chilli prawn recipe that is bound to please everyone. Whether it be for a starter, for a barbecue, or for friends over to watch the football, chilli prawns are sure to keep them happy.

This chilli prawn recipe will serve about 8 people

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

What you need:

1/2 cup of good quality extra virgin olive oil

1/2 chopped up parsley

4 cloves of quality crushed garlic

2 long red chillies that you will need to finely chop

1/2 teaspoon of paprika

1kg of large banana prawns that have been peeled, deveined but still have their tails

What you do with all that yummy stuff above:

Combine the extra virgin olive oil, the chopped garlic, chilli and paprika in a shallow dish.

Add in the banana prawns and coat them with the ingredients.

Cover the prawns and chill them for about an hour so they can soak in the marinade.

Heat up a char grill plate. You can use a frying pan but make sure it is on high heat

Cook the prawns on each side for about 2-3 minutes each or until you can see they have been cooked through.

Serve with a cocktail or iced tea and enjoy the aromas and taste of beautiful chilli prawns.

Chili prawns are very tasty. Always better to do them on a barbecue but a hot fry pan is fine. This recipe is a favorite of mine.

No worries. Who doesn't like chili prawns?! Personally my favourite is garlic prawns ....oh how good are they!

I usually make garlic prawns but chili prawns have now been added to the list and I will be making them soon. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

No worries. Maybe some chili prawns might make it onto your Christmas menus this year. Key is not to go overboard with the chili....or have milk ready!

Prawns would have to be my favourite seafood. Thanks for the recipe. I have a hubpage coming up soon on a similar way to prepare prawns but learned from a Portugese lady from Mosambique in 1974. Shows you how great ideas stick!

So, it's chili prawns for our lunch next week end

Thanks!

No worries, I hope the masses like them. In Australia we enjoy chilli prawns with a beer on a hot day...any excuse for a beer really!
